Creating change for girls across the world with Dale Hanson Bourke

All over the world, girls face challenges鈥攁nd outcomes鈥攆ar worse than boys鈥攁 fact borne out by research on different continents and in different societies. But Dale Bourke says that the challenges facing girls shouldn鈥檛 overwhelm us; they should inspire us.

Bourke is an award-winning writer and editor who has served as president of the CIDRZ Foundation and SVP at World Relief, publisher of Religion News Service. She has also been a syndicated columnist. She has traveled extensively and written about the issues people worldwide face for various national and international publications. Her forthcoming book, 鈥淪trong Girls, Strong World,鈥 will be released on October 23, 2023.

On this episode of 鈥Story in the Public Square,鈥 Bourke discusses the negative implications our society faces if women don鈥檛 have access to education among other opportunities. She says, 鈥渂ut there are also so many opportunities for girls that can be [created] if we take action. What I鈥檝e tried to do in the book is give people every opportunity to even take one small step.鈥
