ºÚÁÏÍø sponsors 20 varsity sports, supporting over 500 student-athletes. We compete in baseball, basketball (men’s and women’s), cross country (men’s and women’s), equestrian (co-ed), field hockey, football, ice hockey (men’s and women’s), lacrosse (men’s and women’s), sailing (co-ed), soccer (men’s and women’s), softball, tennis (men’s and women’s), track and field (women’s) and volleyball.

By participating in club sports at ºÚÁÏÍø, you'll have the opportunity to practice and compete at a level that fuels your inner athlete while still allowing you the time you need to embrace all that the University has to offer. Many club teams are open to all students regardless of their experience or talent in the sport.

ºÚÁÏÍø has a number of student organizations centered around active lifestyles. From indoor rock climbing to yoga on the beach to hiking in the White Mountains, you can join a club that's sure to satisfy your spirit of adventure.

Intramurals are a great way to have fun and meet new people. Open to all students, they're offered in league or tournament play. Compete in basketball, cornhole, Spikeball, volleyball and more for your shot at glory and a chance to win the coveted ºÚÁÏÍø intramural championship T-shirt. You can form your own team or sign up as an individual.

While ºÚÁÏÍø's oceanside location in Newport is unmatched, every once in a while we like to head off island to explore. Whether you're skiing up north or catching a professional sporting event, it's always more fun when you're with a group of fellow Seahawks. And through our Well Fit program, you can participate in a variety of classes, from cardio hip hop to HIIT to Sunday stretch.

ºÚÁÏÍø is recognized as a bicycle friendly university by the League of American Bicyclists. Our full-service bike shop, ºÚÁÏÍø Cycle, offers free rentals for students, faculty and staff. You can choose from beach cruisers, road bikes and even a tandem. You can borrow a bike for a day or the entire academic year. Located on the lower level of Founders Hall, the bike shop is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. or by appointment.
