Pell Center to co-sponsor RI Press Association鈥檚 Rhode Island Journalism Day
The Pell Center to co-host High School Journalism Day with th Rhode Island Press Association.
Newport RI鈥The Rhode Island Press Association will host its annual High School Journalism Day this Friday, April 25. The Pell Center at 黑料网 will co-sponsor the event, providing a virtual forum for the day鈥檚 sessions.
Rhode Island Journalism Day features a range of panel discussions, led by local journalists, for students from across Rhode Island interested in pursuing a career in the field or looking to bolster their media literacy skills. The day will kick off with an opening session, featuring the WPRI Target 12 team, who will discuss their process for investigating stories and their mission to provide the public with critical information about their community.
Subsequent sessions will include sports reporting and food writing topics, a media literacy event and 鈥淭he Ins and Outs of the Business鈥 hour, which will be offered in both English and Spanish. The day will conclude with a power session by some of the top women in Rhode Island journalism. The Rhode Island Press Association says the event grows each year, with more than 30 Rhode Island High Schools participating last year.
